The Catcher in the Rye

I really like the book so far. I like how you get the exact thoughts of Holden. He just seems like a normal teenager for the most part. I like the whole stream of conciousness thing cause it just randomly goes from thought to thought. It's exactly how i think so it's easy to follow. It kinda sucks cause Zach Murray ruined the dumb ending but I still think I will enjoy reading it. I am excited to see how the book will turn out ;)

Morrie Movie Assignment

The movie, book, and interview all show varieties of Morrie's thoughts and feelings about life, death, everything really. I believe the movie takes away from Morrie, it's kinda more focused on Mitch. The way the movie shows Mitch is pretty much how I pictured him, but I pictured Morrie alot different. The movie gave me more of an insight of what Mitch and Morrie's personalities were like. I think now when I read the book I will picture stuff a little different after watching the movie.
I think the movie was helpful for the most part. Just little details might throw me off a little like Mitch's wife. I think the movie took away from Morrie and could have showed him a little better, but all around I think the movie was helpful. =)

Morrie's Interview

Morrie's interview shared a great insight with me. He is a very brave man, and even though he is dying he cares more about everyone else then himself. His advice to people was touching. Morrie is right with all of his advice. Everyone should be more caring to others, and not think as much about themselves. Nobody should blame people/themselves if they are dying, they should open up to others.
To be completely honest, I think if I was in his situation I would not be nearly as accepting to death as he is. He seems as if he is making his experience something people will be able to look back on, and learn death should be a time to make things right. To me it seems as if dying really doesn't phase Morrie. The way he presents himself in the video made him seem content with himself. I have more respect for Morrie after hearing what all he had to say, and knowing really how strong of a man he is.
